Introduction :
Time to turn towards others, rather than oneself ; Time for our lives to be motivated by something more than just profit and interest ; Something we would call… a new paradigm.
The facts :
The Mansis altogether decided to put their new album ‘Shifting Paradigm‘ open to download on their web site.
The idea, rather than impose any value on the 12 songs gathered in the album, is to rely on people’s honnesty to donate what they would see fit to the non-profit association which took care of the expenses connected with the production of the album.
All of the band members have full-time jobs and do not wish their passion for music to be turned into a mere run for profit and wealth.
The album :
The ‘Shifting Paradigm’ project was carried out upon a 2 year period. The songs were written between September 2010 to October 2011. They were then recorded at AMS home studio, the recording facility of the band’s non-profit association.
The album was pre-mastered at FBI studio, Annemasse (F), with the gracious help of Alex Averty.
Two extra musicians freely appeared on the album :
Anthony ‘Ram’ Laverrière, trumpet on ‘Mary-Jane’.
Cédric Maurer, Hammond on ‘The D day’, piano on ‘Language of love’.
The album cover was designed with the generous help of Charles Mugel, his talent in photography and the permission he gave the band to freely use 2 of his Works.
The recording / mixing / mastering sessions span over 2 years, from Sept 2010 to Oct 2012. Many hours of work have been necessary for The Mansis to match the production with their expectations.
AMS association :
AMS is a non-profit association run by the band members. All monies from the sales of the album go to the association which, in term, uses them for the maintenance and update of the studio equipment, as well as for the production and promotion of the band’s albums. At this stage, none of the band members receive any money from the AMS association.
